Free Education: Whys of Wills (Part II)
Sep 18, 2018 by Danielle Andersen
According to a 2016 Gallup poll, only 44% of Americans adults have a will, a number that has steadily decreased over the past 20 years.
A free educational seminar entitled, “The Whys of Wills (Part II),” is a follow up session to “The Whys of Wills (Part I),” that took place in September. This session will discuss beneficiary designations, power of attorney documents and advanced health care directives. Local estate planning attorney, Lisa Bowen, Thrivent Financial representative, Ted Haar, and local non-profit, the Written Gift, will explore these topics in depth. This free seminar will be held at Grand Arbor, 4403 Pioneer Road SE, Alexandria.
This is the second seminar in an ongoing series hosted by Thrivent Financial and Knute Nelson. Upcoming seminar topics include:
• Thursday, November 8 – U.S. Tax Reform and Leaving Your Legacy
• Tuesday, December 11 – Keeping the Farm in the Family
There is no cost to attend; however, RSVPs are appreciated due to limited space. Refreshments will be provided. To RSVP for any of these workshops, call Chris Harris at 320-759-1269.
Bowen has been practicing law since 1995 and specializes in the areas of estate planning, elder law, probate, real estate and business matters. Bowen is an active member of the Elder Law Section and the Minnesota State Bar Association. Bowen obtained her law degree from Hamline University School of Law.
