Whys of Wills (Part I)
Aug 21, 2018 by Danielle Andersen
More than 50% of Americans die without having a will in place; still fewer, 42% have a living will. A will is one of the most important legal documents to articulate one’s intentions regarding their estate, designate beneficiaries, name guardians for minor children, make charitable provisions among other benefits.
A free educational seminar entitled, “The Whys of Wills (Part I),” will discuss essential information and steps needed to develop and include in a will. The public is invited to attend the seminar, which begins at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 4. Local estate planning attorney, Lisa Bowen, and Thrivent Financial representative, Ted Haar, will explore these topics in depth. This free seminar will be held at Grand Arbor, 4403 Pioneer Road SE, Alexandria.
This is the first seminar in an ongoing series hosted by Thrivent Financial and Knute Nelson. Upcoming seminar topics include:
• Tuesday, October 9 – The Whys of Wills (Part II)
• Thursday, November 8 – U.S. Tax Reform and Leaving Your Legacy
• Tuesday, December 11 – Keeping the Farm in the Family
There is no cost to attend; however, RSVPs are appreciated due to limited space. Refreshments will be provided. To RSVP for any of these workshops, call Chris Harris at 320-759-1269.
