It takes just a moment to apply … and a lifetime to enjoy.
Erin Boesl is a Doctor of Physical Therapy at Knute Nelson Home Health Care. The need for happiness in her work life led her to Knute. She says, “I was not happy with a company I was at, and the company was no longer serving my needs. I had several coworkers that had left and made the transition to Knute Nelson. They told me what a great company it was and how happy they were. I became intrigued. I applied for their Physical Therapist opening and I interviewed. I was very impressed. The staff I met in the interview were great. They offered me a job and I made the switch.”
As a physical therapist, Erin goes into patients’ homes and evaluates their condition. She determines a diagnosis and develops a treatment plan. She treats impairments such as limited range of motion, decreased strength, balance impairments, vertigo or vestibular dysfunctions, joint functions, postural abnormalities, movement disorders or movement dysfunctions. Her treatment plan addresses those impairments and functional limitations that go along with them, to help patients meet their goal of becoming more independent in the home, to be safer in the home, have less pain and overall have a better quality of life.
Working in the home health care division, Erin came across a little secret. She describes it as a best kept secret actually, but she wants you all to hear about it now. She says, “In a facility, you are there eight plus hours a day. Often times, your block schedule has you working evenings, weekends and even overnights. With home health care, I’m in and out of patient’s homes. I’m outside experiencing life and the sights around me. I get to create my own schedule. We all know life happens, and if I need to bring my child to the doctor or want to watch them in school activities, I can rearrange my visits to allow for that time. I’m given control, flexibility and the freedom to schedule my patients. I’m not missing a moment with my kids, and that means the world to me.”
Erin also loves that she gets to build relationships with her patients. “They trust me to come into their homes. I get to see them interact in a different environment than if they were in a clinic or facility setting. I can observe safety hazards and create a specialized plan to help them be safer in their home. I see things with a new set of eyes that I would not have had in a clinic setting. I have great relationships with my clients. They trust me and I respect them.” says Boesl.
Erin has been with Knute Nelson for nearly two and a half years now. Boesl reflects, “I love working for Knute Nelson. My core values align with theirs and the mission to enrich the lives of everyone we serve. Everyone is kind. Our leadership team and employees lead with integrity. They are honest. They are transparent. They want us to be happy. And I am happier. I don't go home stressed out. I love my job. I love my colleagues and overall, my quality of life has improved tremendously.”
Come be happy with Erin and join in on the best kept secret. It takes just a moment to apply … and then a lifetime to enjoy.
