Join us in congratulating our Living Our Values award recipients. The Living Our Values awards align with the five values of our organization and recognize those who exemplify them in their everyday work at Knute Nelson. In addition, the “Spirit of Enrichment” award recognizes an individual for their extraordinary efforts in each award category.
Spirit of Enrichment
Congratulations Pam Thorson, Restorative Aide at the Care Center
Pam Thorson has served residents of Knute Nelson for over 22 years. Her loyalty and dedication to our mission of enriching lives is evident to those who know her and serve alongside her. Each day, Pam demonstrates the values of our organization in her work and her peers wanted to recognize her for her commitment.
Pam’s peers shared:
She is truly a servant leader on the floor, she assists her coworkers at any time, is truthful and sincere in all she does. Those she serves trust her and know that she will be there to help no matter what the need is.
She will stay late and cover half of an evening shift – picks up weekends – gives up her days off to help when we are looking for coverage and she does all of this many times without being asked and just volunteers herself. Remarkable!
She is extremely committed to KN and lives out our mission each and everyday she is at work. Her passion for those in her care can be felt and seen by all with her willingness, her positive attitude, her honesty and her selfless way of being.
Christian Heritage
Congratulations Jenna Mills, RN Case Manager at Crystal Brook
This year’s Christian Heritage award recipient, Jenna Mills, was recognized for her commitment to fostering relationships and a work environment that reflects and embraces our Christian heritage.
Jenna’s peers shared:
Today, in the Time For Change session, Jenna shared a bible verse that resonated with me. ‘Keep your minds on whatever is true, pure, right, holy, friendly & proper’ Phil 4:8. Thank you Jenna for drawing us towards the word of God to help with our understanding of how we reset our minds to the focus on humanness, and that God’s love is for all and we all should replicate that love.
Valuing People
Congratulations Tera Daker, Patient Access Specialist at Home Health Care and Hospice
Meet this year’s Valuing People award recipient, Tera Daker. Tera has been recognized countless times for
going above and beyond to assist her coworkers by taking on additional duties and going out of her way
to ensure the success of others.
Tera’s peers shared:
Thank you for being such an amazing team player and always willing to help others out, even when you are very busy with your own tasks. I could not do it without you!! I am not able to get into the office this week and she has helped me by printing off schedules and covering my workflow when needed. You are a ROCKSTAR!
Customer Focused Excellence
Congratulations Barb Wood, Transition Coordinator at the Care Center
Meet our Customer-Focused Excellence award recipient, Barb Wood. The Customer-Focused Excellence Award recognizes an individual who focuses on exceeding the expectations of those they serve. Barb was recognized due to the
many instances where she goes above and beyond for those she serves
Barb’s peers shared:
With the care center going through restructuring Barb has spent multiple hours meeting with residents, talking with staff and with families about which wing would be appropriate for each resident from the Maples that will be moving to the Pines. She has worked very hard on making sure that the resident is placed in the “right wing” whether it is a view of the Healing Gardens or the play ground for the daycare she has made every effort to make sure that the residents requests are met.
Community Engagement
Congratulations Jerrica Thiel, Occupational Therapist at Home Health Care
Join us in congratulating our Community Engagement award recipient, Jerrica. Jerrica is being recognized for making a positive impact in her community
Jerrica’s peers shared:
Recently our community had a shooting near several of our community partners and assisted livings. Jerrica took initiative to call the neighboring assisted living facilities and notify them of this so that they could go on lock down and keep their residents safe. She is always looking out for her patients, our partners and thinking on her toes - so grateful to have her!
Stewardship
Congratulations Rob Rodas, Director of Culinary Services in Housing
This year’s Stewardship award recipient, Rob Rodas, works diligently to make good use of our financial resources. He makes decisions each day in the interest of being a good steward and ensuring adequate funds are available to fulfill our
mission.
Rob’s peers shared:
I have known Rob for years--he is committed to excellence but is always looking to decrease his spending yet keep quality high. He saw that he was $0.10 over budget raw food per patient day. He took 30 minutes to figure out that he could save $17K by making a few small adjustments. Nice job Rob!
Congratulations and THANK YOU ALL for your hard work and dedication!
