What Does Life-Enriching Hospice Care Truly Mean?
One patient’s experience with hospice life-enriching services
From choosing a trusted provider to coping with anticipatory grieving, hospice care is often met with a range of challenges for loved ones and families. As you consider your end-of-life healthcare options, Knute Nelson Hospice offers balance between assurance, quality care, and daily comfort. Through our life-enriching services, we go beyond traditional expectations.
We believe that the Knute Nelson difference is best encapsulated by those we serve. Through the lens of Linda Carey, a former Knute Nelson Hospice patient, we hope to shine a light on the compassionate services that set us apart. In the words of Linda, “I never knew about the loving care that Knute Nelson Hospice provides. They treat their patients well.”
Putting Physical Comfort within Reach
Our dedicated care team at Knute Nelson Hospice believes in the power of personalization to nurture greater comfort for those we serve. That’s why our life-enriching services include Healing Touch, massage therapy, and beyond.
While Healing Touch uses gentle movements that channel the body’s natural energy, massage therapy promotes a myriad of pain reduction, circulatory, and muscular benefits. By keeping a listening ear out for specific pain points, we strive to deliver targeted relief.
In Linda’s experience, “my shoulder has been 100% better after Healing Touch, and the massage therapy really takes the pain out of my feet.”
Bringing Spiritual Support and Mental Well-being
As a common favorite among our life-enriching services, therapeutic music connects individuals with fond memories and present joy. For Linda, “the most rewarding service at Knute Nelson Hospice is therapeutic music. Every time I see them, it just really, really makes my day.” The simple act of fulfilling Linda’s musical requests such as Ray Conniff and Tijuana Brass playing “Somewhere My Love,” becomes a reminder of her wedding day, and allows her to relive those memories through a dance with her husband.
Nurturing an Atmosphere of Affirmation
In keeping with our core value of people first, our friendly and compassionate care team forges meaningful relationships with those we serve. In turn, our life-enriching services are anything but transactional. Instead, we view these as opportunities to empower and uplift others while making hospice an affirming experience for loved ones and family members.
From bereavement care to lighten the load of grieving to achieving end-of-life goals, our spirit of genuine care shines through everything we do. In Linda’s eyes, “the most important part of Knute Nelson Hospice is the loving care the hospice team provides their patients.”
Choosing Knute Nelson Hospice Care
From our massage therapists to our Healing Touch practitioners and every specialty in between, our entire care team at Knute Nelson Hospice believes in delivering daily care that’s as unique as those we serve. In Linda’s words, “hospice provides that loving care for me and my family.”
