Knute Nelson Recognized for Quality with Five Star Rating
Feb 24, 2020 by Danielle Andersen
Knute Nelson Care Center has achieved a five star rating with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Nursing Home Comparison rating system. The rating system was developed by CMS to help consumers, their families, and caregivers compare nursing homes more easily.
Three important factors go into determining a nursing homes overall star rating:
- Health inspections; information gathered from the last three years of onsite inspections
- Staffing; the number of hours of care provided to each resident each day by nursing staff
- Quality measures; 16 different physical and clinical measures for nursing home residents
“A five-star rating in CMS’s quality rating system is a direct reflection of our team’s commitment to serving our residents and patients with high quality, compassionate care,” says Angie Urman, Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President. “Whether an individual is visiting us for a short-term stay so they can recover and return home, or they will be calling our Care Center home, it’s of utmost importance to us that they receive the dignity, respect, and care they deserve.”
Nursing Home Compare releases ratings for nursing homes across the United States on a quarterly basis via Nursing Home Compare, an online database that’s accessible to the public and shows the star ratings for each nursing home. You can compare nursing homes at Medicare.gov.
