Our Focus: A Letter from Knute Nelson's CEO
July 14, 2022

For nearly 75 years Knute Nelson has cared for the area’s older adults
It all started in the late Senator Knute Nelson’s home, where the first residents of our organization resided as they received the proper care to meet their health needs.
Through the years, the community’s needs have changed, and we have intentionally shifted the paradigm of our services to meet those needs. It prompted the addition of senior living communities, the expansion of our home-based services, and preventative offerings like wellness and outpatient therapy.
Several years ago, we identified the need for collaboration that enables each individual to be treated as a whole person rather than treating their singular health condition. Our new Population Health program focuses on the overall wellbeing of those we serve through a collaborative effort of guidance, services, and community resources to improve an individual’s overall wellbeing –physically, socially, emotionally, spiritually, and intellectually.
We also recognize the need for expanded home based services. For many aging adults, the home is only place they want to be, and naturally, their needs change over time. It’s our priority that these individuals have someone to support them and care for them at these different periods of life. It’s why we offer, and continue to expand, our home safety technology, home care, home health and hospice service lines and serve in 38+ Counties.
Last year, 87% of 8,058 total lives served by Knute Nelson were cared for in our home and community-based programs and services.
Our approach to serving West Central Minnesota’s aging adults is driven by you, and we hope that by designing services that enable you to reach your goals, your life will be enriched.
Our visions come to life thanks to the people who support us. Our donors, residents, patients, community members, local board of directors, leadership and team members make our work possible.
Thank you for continuing to put your faith in us. Our passion for this meaningful work only increases with each passing year.
Sincerely,
Mark Anderson, President & CEO
