The Impact of Post-Surgery Rehabilitation
How the Nelson Wellness Center Supports the Full Recovery Spectrum
Whether you’re preparing for surgery, seeking post-surgery rehabilitation, or wanting to maintain a healthy lifestyle, the Nelson Wellness Center offers support for every goal. Our facility, located in Alexandria, MN, is available to community members 45+, Knute Nelson residents, and YMCA members 45+. Our mission is to help you live and age well.
The quality and value of our offerings are best demonstrated through the experiences of those we serve. That’s why we’re eager to share the story of Kim Suter, a member who underwent two knee replacement surgeries. Best said by Kim, “Whether for your hip, knee, ankle or just overall fitness, this is the place to get better.”
Supporting the Pre and Post-Surgery Recovery Progress
In the aftermath of her first knee replacement surgery, Kim struggled for several months with post-surgery rehabilitation. After speaking with her doctor, she decided to try our Total Knee & Hip class at the Nelson Wellness Center.
Through consistent participation in the comfort of our warm water pool, she discovered significant progress and pain reduction. These results inspired Kim to take a more proactive approach when the time came for her second knee replacement. According to Kim, “the difference between my first and second knee replacement was huge… I went to the classes before it, and my recovery was great.”
Connecting with a Community of Care
With 30+ weekly group fitness classes, our members find a deep sense of community and belonging. As Kim discovered, “You may not know anyone at first, but you will when you walk out of that place. It’s a warm and pleasant atmosphere.”
Guiding our group and private classes is a compassionate team of certified personal trainers. With a listening ear, these dedicated professionals take a tailored approach based on your goals and limitations. In turn, the Nelson Wellness Center offers something for every physical level.
Upholding Excellence as Our Standard
From the programming we develop to the equipment we maintain, we strive for excellence in everything we do. Within our facilities, members have access to state-of-the-art equipment such as HydroRider® water bikes, a cardiovascular strength room, and a warm water pool.
In the words of Kim, “They’ve got great equipment at the fitness center which they’re always updating and maintaining.” By upholding our consistent quality, we seek to make your recovery or wellness journey as enjoyable as possible.
