We Recognize and Thank Our Volunteers

In 2021, Knute Nelson volunteers again gave generously of their time and talent to help us further our mission of enriching lives. Our volunteers continue to magnify our impact, even though this year volunteering looked quite different at Knute Nelson due to the ongoing changes and regulations because of the pandemic. For most of the year, volunteers conducted their efforts outside of Knute Nelson buildings and facilities.
Even with these changes to volunteering this year, our committed volunteers continued to be of heartwarming service to the older adults we serve.
Here are some insights into what our volunteers helped us accomplish this year:
• Shopping and running errands for residents
• Accompanying residents at medical appointments
• Sewing hospice gowns
• Providing companionship and spiritual care to hospice patients
• Transporting our residents to and from the beauty shop
• Making pies for residents to celebrate “Pie Day Fridays”
• Popping popcorn weekly for staff and residents to enjoy at the Care Center
• Running Bingo events for residents
